Concept
This accordion-folded self-promotional piece showed different aspects of my personality and significant objects of my life that I rendered in a style that was simple yet engaging. I executed this using clean designs and compositions.
Initial Sketches
For my sketches, a problem I faced was figuring out which aspects of myself I wanted to represent. There were many options for visual representations of different significant influences in my life. I ended up choosing objects that represent my culture, hometown, interests, and personal comforting practices.
Digital Rendering
My initial digital renderings followed my sketches pretty closely. However, after some evaluation, I was able to simplify and add elements that made the images more cohesive. The main change I made for my final digital renderings that are on the left was adding in more of the mono-width accent lines. Simplified the tea bag background and changed my rabbit so it fits the style of the rest of my drawings.Color Exploration
For my color exploration, I knew I wanted to go for complimentary or cool and warm colors. I chose this color scheme because I wanted to maintain the simplicity of these icons by using minimal colors while still achieving the highest contrast. I think having complimentary colors allows for the objects to stand out.
