Concept
We were assigned to work with editorial content to design and code a mini news webpage of an event we have chosen to alter. The concept of my webpage was about the recent development of the wooly mammoth mouse.

Moodboard

While building my moodboard I kept my eye out for overlapping elements and large chunks of color that broke up the layout. For my color scheme, I wanted to have muted colors with one bright neon green as an accent color as I noticed in my research that a lot of science websites typically have a dark background with only a few highlighting colors. I chose geometric sans serif fonts since they give off a more scientific, educational, and credible feeling.

Initial Sketches

In my initial layout sketches, I explored the idea of overlapping elements or different ways to display and frame my photos either in a square or masking out their backgrounds. I also was thinking about having multiple blocks of colors or a gradient of colors in the background. Overall, these sketches helped me visualize and organize the entirety of the layout.
