Concept
We were tasked to create a poster and ticket for an event using text and images. My goal was to emulate the movement of the image through the texts that also establish a clear reading hierarchy.
Initial Sketches
For my layout sketches, I focussed on how I wanted to incorporate my images with the text and figure out the best methods to showcase the dancers while still retaining readability.Color Exploration
My color exploration was based on the image I chose for the poster. I wanted to make sure that the colors visually worked together but also had enough contrast for legibility. I also chose to work with a humanist san serif font because when researching the company they seemed to be going for a modern style. Choosing a humanist san serif font gives the impression of an approachable and modern company.
Iterations
I was initially struggling to try to incorporate both the typography and image together. In these initial iterations, I was trying to figure out a reading hierarchy as well as trying to emulate the weightless feeling of the dancer.
