About Me

Hello, my name is Ava Cheung, I’m an Asian American undergraduate student from a small town in the North Bay Area, currently attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, studying Graphic Design with a minor in Packaging. When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll probably find me either whipping something up in the kitchen, playing hairdresser (to myself or willing volunteers), or getting lost in the newest anime series.

I’ve always had an interest in crafting creative solutions and found joy in communicating ideas through visual unity and storytelling. The curiosity I had for design exploration has driven me to pursue this major. As I grew up my obsession for chachkies and trinkets has made me interested in more physical applications to my work, as I find satisfaction with being able to tangibly feel a design I created.

I recently discovered the possibility and interest of working in packaging design, product design, and more! I am open to all opportunities to create expressively and meaningfully. I recently interned for a short film, Greetings from St Helena, where I gained experiences with building a brand identity and experimenting with different forms of public outreach. My goal is to bring to life user-centered designs to convey important messages that are accessible to all.
